Press Release: UH’s GoFarm Hawaii program received $712k from the USDA’s Beginning Farmer Rancher Development Program to provide and evaluate new farmer training at their collaborating partner locations at Windward, Leeward, and Kauai Community Colleges, CTAHR’s Waimanalo Agricultural Research Station, and on Hawaii Island through The Kohala Center. GoFarm Hawaii is Hawaii’s premier new farmer training program and focuses on producing new commercial farmers for Hawaii. In addition to the USDA grant, the program has received support from the U.S. Department of Labor, Kamehameha Schools, the Ulupono Initiative, Hawaii Department of Agriculture, and the Doc Buyers Fund at the Hawaii Community Foundation. www.gofarmhawaii.org
