GoFarm Hawai`i @ Leeward CC had an educational workday at Holoholo Farm (thanks Holoholo!). See the pictures and captions.
20 aspiring farmers who were accepted into the AgXposure phase working at CTAHR's Waimanalo station alongside students from Cohort3 in the AgPro phase (formerly known as AgSchool2) and Cohort2 graduates in the AgIncubator phase. These 20 are learning about the hard work and activities of the field work they can expect in AgSchool, and the students and incubatees are receiving some help with their plots.
Some GFH staff had the opportunity to attend the National Incubator Farm Training Initiative's Field School in Portland, Oregon. A very cool place full of farm-to-table restaurants and great farmer training, incubation, and support. 70 attendees from farmer incubator and training programs across the country shared best practices and discussed various aspects of funding, operations, and impacts. In addition, we had the chance to tour the Oregon State University Food Innovation Center to learn how they develop new food products.
